The formation pattern of the rural environment dependends on several factors, one of the most important influencing factor and its fundamental principle is the way of life of the residents and in other words their lifestyle. Meanwhile, religion, rites and religious components play an important role in choosing a lifestyle, because religion has a significant impact on controlling culture, lifestyles, consumption, behavior, thinking, attitude and worldview. This research aims to achieve the role and impact of the religious components of villagers' lifestyles and religious rituals in the formation of rural living spaces. The method of this research is qualitative type that firstly in the form of theoretical studies using library studies and based on the descriptive-analytical method of three categories of lifestyle, religious rituals and the relationship between religious lifestyle and rural architecture and living space and its dimensions and Their components were analyzed. After conducting theoretical studies and based on the model obtained from the first part, field studies were conducted in the form of field impressions using interview and observation tools. The information obtained , the required data were collected and recorded, and finally the effects of the obtained components were investigated in theoretical studies in the form of concrete samples in the target village. The studied sample is Kergan village from East Azerbaijan province and Bostanabad city. The results of the research indicate that religious rituals and components affect various aspects of the rural living space, including the living and livelihood, spiritual and religious, socio-cultural and environmental spaces. living and livelihood aspect can be expressed in the creation of service spaces, the environmental aspect can be expressed in not destroying the environment and the use of renewable materials, the socio-cultural aspect can be expressed in the design of buildings and public spaces for special ceremonies, and the religious and spiritual aspect can be seen in the creation of boundaries and privacy and simplicity and avoiding luxurism in design of the house. The results show that religion causes a specific choice of life, that this specific lifestyle is the reason for the creation of the specific living space of that region. Therefore, one of the influential factors in the construction of living spaces in Kergan village is the religious lifestyle of that region.
