Objectives: The missing link in evacuation is the relationship between design components and behavioral patterns. the purpose of this research is to obtain the best behavioral patterns in evacuation of Tehran residential tower and optimal design of the output according to behavioral patterns in the lobby of residential tower. Methods: In the data collection, the survey method, field study, case study, experimental and modeling and the simulation and the data have been used both quantitative and qualitative methods. two independent variables in this study are the width of the output, the distance between the output and the number of egress components and the dependent variable is the time and the quality of the complete withdrawal of the people from the building (quality from the direction of congestion behind doors). this research has been done in two main axes. in the first axis through questionnaire and experimental tests in the case study (the high-rise residential complex), the behavior patterns of residents during evacuation are discussed. in the second axis, modeling and simulation of emergency evacuation and evaluation of various scenarios for congestion and population density and the way people are removed. Results: The results showed that problems such as lack of sufficient training and low experience, cause problems in the behavior of residents in the face of fire. high evacuation time, lack of inclination to leave the building, exit from the step system in different classes, changing the direction and finally mass movement pattern with distance from different groups of population are important characteristics of people in tall residential buildings in Iran. the existence of periodic intervals for evacuating the people improves the speed and quality of discharge which represents the importance of discharge of the stage relative to the full discharge scenario. also, the existence of corridor and lobby of the elevator will decrease the discharge rate. Conclusion: the findings of this study include the most important behavioral patterns of people during evacuation in high-rise residential buildings. also, the formula of pre - evacuation for residential conditions of Iran was obtained according to international formula and compared with other countries. the hybrid heuristic method was developed using fuzzy logic to obtain the speed of motion of individuals according to their specifications. the optimal location of exit doors in the lobby with regard to different population peak and discharge and complete discharge and the presence of obstacles with different dimensions and conditions in front of door in the classified scenarios were investigated to achieve the optimal solution.
