AB - Using and commercializing rural environments and their transformation into a tourism product is overlooked as an ideal strategy for sustainable development in high-capacity areas. Rural tourism has consequences in the rural environment with direct and indirect effects on rural communities and local residents. Eco-camps are affordable accommodation with minor damage to the environment that can satisfy nature-loving tourists from all over the world during their stay. Conducting a feasibility study and identifying the proper location of the eco-camp is one of the key steps in sustainable rural tourism planning, which leads to the success of eco-camps and return on investment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility and location of the setting up of an international eco-camp in the villages of Kermanshah province. The statistical population of this study is divided into two groups: 1. 137 domestic and foreign tourists visiting Kermanshah province before 2020 to select the type of eco-camp; 2. 50 famous eco-camps and the comments of 7608 guests to identify the facilities of an international eco-camp. In this research, it was tried to identify and locate the most appropriate type of eco-camp by defining the most important facilities and in the most suitable villages of Kermanshah province, using image analysis, econometrics, machine learning and data analysis methods based on GIS maps. Summarizing the results of three steps of the research showed: 1. The eco-camp should be located next to the foothills (based on the results of the parameters in the disturbance matrix in the first step); 2. Proximity to the airport will be a priority for international tourists (according to the results of the function set for the facilities model in the second step); 3. Finally, based on the criteria and standards of locating the eco-camp, such as access to the road network, appropriate slope, reasonable elevation and distance from natural hazards (based on GIS layers in the third step), the Chalabeh region and village have the best conditions to build an international eco-camp.
