| Today, peception of agricultural and human science experts about rural research have been transformed. Quantitative research method is confronted with high critical points which have caused some experts to present new paradigm, such as Robert Chambers. This paper will study the focus group as a qualitative method. In focus group, facilitator and stakeholders work together with participation method, also it present the conept of focus group, abstract about other qualitative methods, and what situation focus groups have in hermeneutic paradigm. The study will conclude that focus groups have weakness and strength points with the emphasis on focus group and skill of researcher which is important.
